How we use your information

This notice covers the ZimBasket launch waitlist on zimbasket.co.za. It explains what we collect and why, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires.

Who we are

What we collect

The email address or South African mobile number you give us, your first name if you choose to share it, and the date and time you agreed to hear from us. To stop abuse of the form, we also keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your internet address, never the address itself.

Why we collect it

To tell you when the ZimBasket online shop opens, by email, SMS or WhatsApp, because you ticked the box asking us to. If you also ticked the optional second box, we'll send you product news and specials too. Before we send you anything, we may ask you to confirm the contact details are yours. Giving us your details is voluntary; without them we just can't let you know.

Who sees it

The ZimBasket team, and the company that builds and hosts this website on our behalf. We don't sell your details or give them to anyone else for their marketing [ZimBasket to confirm]. Our website is hosted on Amazon Web Services servers in the United Kingdom.

How long we keep it

Until you opt out, or until the launch campaign ends [period to confirm], whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can opt out at any time: tell us on WhatsApp or reply to any message we send. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it. If you're unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
